Alasoadura seeks reduction of security voteswant

Senator representing Ondo Central in the National Assembly, Tayo Alasoadura, at the weekend urged state governors to reduce their security votes. Alasoadura, who is an All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship aspirant in Ondo State, said there was urgent need for prudent management of the nation’s resources. The chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum (Upstream) spoke at a media chat in Akure, the state capital. Alasoadura said he learnt his state governor, Olusegun Mimiko, was collecting N600m as security votes in a month whereas his predecessor, late Olusegun Agagu, did not collect the same amount in a whole year. Alasoadura wondered what a governor could be doing with such huge amount of money at a period he could not pay workers for six months.
