Ambrose Scores Own Goal As Messi- Led Barca Outsmart Celtic
Nigeria defender Efe Ambrose scored an own goal on Saturday as Barcelona began their pre-season campaign with a 3-1 victory over Celtic in their International Champions Cup fixture in Dublin. Even with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in the Barca line- up, it was the Scottish side that could have taken the lead after just 15 seconds when Patrick Roberts capitalised on a mistake in the Barcelona defence but his left-footed effort curled just wide of the far post. Barcelona soon made their opponents pay for that let-off as they took the lead after 11 minutes with Aleix Vidal setting up Arda Turan to find the top corner of the net from 25 yards. Barcelona wrapped up the victory with Munir El Haddadi’s goal in the 40th minute.
