FUTA 2017 acceptance Fee slashed to 40k - [FUTASU]
In the premature hours of November 3rd, 2017 , the long awaited news of futa admission leading to the released of Admission list (First Batch) went viral into the air in a detonating way thereby causing an unspeakable joy to the families of the admitted students (jambites) but at the same time led to a state of buffalo and melancholy to the pitiable poor families who almost sold their properties in lieu of registering their ward for the just concluded Jamb and tertiary screening examination. In lieu of this The Federal University of Technology Akure Students' Union (FUTASU), a consortium of articulate, dynamic, pragmatic, progressive and vibrant students' leader after hours of deliberation with the management of the institution had come to a resolution.
The students union at the late hours of today 6th of November 2017 released a press statement about those resolutions.
THE DOWNWARD REVIEW OF THE ACCEPTANCE FEE OF THE FIRST BATCH OF PROVISIONALLY ADMITTED STUDENTS.
The Federal University of Technology Akure Students' Union (FUTASU), a consortium of articulate, dynamic, pragmatic, progressive and vibrant students' leader, wish to intimate the First batch of provisionally admitted students and the general populace that:
I- After thorough and extensive deliberation with the University Management, the Acceptance Fee for the First batch of provisionally admitted students has been reduced drastically from N50,000 to N40,000 due to the current economic situation of the country.
II- The 2-week window to enable the parents and/guardians of successful candidates to make payment for the Acceptance Fee still stand.
III- There will be a refund of the extra amount already paid by any desperate and eager parent/guardian who might have hurriedly made the payment of N50,000 (Fifty Thousand Naira).
The FUTA SUG sincerely thank the Vice Chancellor, the Dean of Students' Affairs and the entire University Management for having a listening ear and for the urgent downward review of the acceptance fee.
The Students' Union also appreciate the unflinching support of NANS Senate Presidency, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Committee of Ondo state, Past FUTA SUG Presidents and senior comrades who played pivotal roles in the struggle.
We will continue to protect the interests of the students as contained in the sacrosanct constitution of Federal University of Technology Akure Students' Union (FUTASU).
