FUTA STUDENTS CHAMPIONS A CAMPAIGN AGAINST COVID-19 CORONA VIRUS IN AKURE (see photos)

It is no news that this virus outbreak has grown to PANDEMIC LEVEL(as declared by WHO), for this reason several nations and corporations are taking drastic actions to not just curb the adverse health demise but also the Socio-political effects that trails speedily and painfully after the outbreak would be curbed.

Akinbolusere Michael O. Popularly called McBOLOUS a 400L student of Biomedical Technology and the current financial secretary of the students union (FUTASU) led a group of intellectual and patriotic students from The Federal University of Technology has decided to go around the city of Akure on Monday, 30th March, 2020; engaging regular commuters on Sensitisation on the Pandemic;

debunking myths of fake news and over emphasized publications from unauthorized sources.

This Sensitisation walk is to aid the NCDC and Ondo State Health Commission in reaching out to everyone to ensure proper education of this Virus to the citizens of Akure, Ondo state.

During the course of the sensitization:

- free nose masks 😷 were given out

- we orientate the people on preventive measures to be taken against #coronavirus

- we orientate them on the need to #stayathome and #staysafe

- talked to them on the symptoms of the virus and what to do when they observed such.

- enlightened them on what #socialdistancing is.

- orientate them on the need to avoid social gathering,

- and lots more

All thanks to the Director of Health center, Dr. Adenikinju for his fatherly support and for providing the required assistance and materials for the success of the campaign.
